Not every check is the same check, and most directories hide that. Every listing below says which kind it was, and the date we did it — because a license check is a photograph, not a guarantee. Somebody confirmed in August can be suspended in September.

Nobody paid to be listed here, and nobody can. Listings are not for sale, and no professional on this page has paid us anything to appear on it or to appear higher on it. If we are ever paid in connection with anyone listed here, it will say so on this page, next to that listing. Most of these were confirmed against a state register. A small number were not, and rather than quietly presenting those as equivalent, they are marked and we are re-checking them.

Not included yet. Mediators: Rhode Island’s courts don’t publish a list of named family mediators. The Family Court’s mediation page describes the service and gives a phone number, but the mediators are court staff and are never named. The only named roster the Supreme Court publishes is for appellate mediation — six retired judges handling civil appeals, not divorce. We won’t fall back on a commercial "find a mediator" site, so this is empty. Call the Family Court’s mediation program directly.
Not included yet. CDFAs: No Rhode Island CDFAs could be confirmed. IDFA’s directory sits behind a bot check we don’t work around. One candidate profile had been removed and another turned out to be a Canadian adviser. At least one Rhode Island professional does publicly describe herself as a CDFA, but without an IDFA profile confirming it we’re not listing anyone.
Not included yet. Attorneys: Each attorney was confirmed Active with no disciplinary cases in the Judiciary’s own attorney search — an unusually good record for a small state. That system doesn’t record practice areas, so the family-law focus comes from each firm’s own site. Nobody could be placed in Washington or Bristol County from official records.
Not included yet. Therapists: All five were confirmed licensed straight from the Department of Health’s own licensee data. The divorce focus comes from each clinician’s own practice listing, since the state doesn’t record a specialty. The city shown is the address on file with the state, which can differ from where they actually see clients.
