By using this site
By visiting thecusp.app or any app connected to it, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, the only real request we have is that you not use the site — there is no account to delete and nothing to sign.
The Cusp is not a law firm
Nothing on this site is legal, financial, or clinical advice, and using this site does not create an attorney-client relationship, a financial-advisory relationship, or a therapist-client relationship with anyone. Every state-law page on this site quotes an official government source and links to it, specifically so you can verify it yourself rather than take our word for it — laws and court fees change, sometimes without notice, and you should confirm anything that matters with your court clerk or a licensed professional before you rely on it.
The professional directory
Professionals listed in our directory are included on the basis of independently verified public credentials — a license lookup, not a payment, a partnership, or an endorsement by us. We do not vouch for the quality of any listed professional’s work, and we are not a party to, and carry no responsibility for, any engagement you enter into with one. Full detail on how listings work and how the site is funded is on how we make money.
Buddy connections and community features
Buddy connections, when it opens in your state, matches you with another person going through a divorce for informal peer support — it is not therapy, not counseling, and not a moderated crisis service. Use ordinary judgment about what you share with someone you have not met, the same as you would with anyone else online.
What’s free, and what might not always be
The fifty-state law, fees, and directory content on this site is free and we intend to keep it that way. Some features, like the state divorce kits, are priced and clearly marked as such. We may introduce additional paid features or a subscription tier in the future; if we do, this page and the site itself will say so clearly before you are asked to pay for anything new.
Content ownership
The text, design, and organization of this site are owned by The Cusp. You are welcome to link to any page here. Copying substantial portions of our state-by-state content elsewhere without permission is not.
No warranty
This site is provided as-is. We work hard to get every figure right and to say plainly when we could not confirm something rather than guess — but we do not guarantee the site is error-free, uninterrupted, or current to the minute, and we are not liable for a decision you make based on something you read here. When in doubt, verify with the primary source we link to, or with a licensed professional.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of [LLC HOME STATE], without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. (Fill in once the LLC is formed — this should match the state the LLC is registered in.)
