Idaho’s court-approved family mediators.

Every mediator below is on the Idaho Supreme Court’s own roster of approved child custody mediators. Attorneys, CDFAs and therapists aren’t listed yet — Idaho’s licensing systems can’t currently be checked from outside a browser, and we won’t list a credential we haven’t verified. The reasons are spelled out below.

Every professional below is at the Listed tier: credentials independently verified from an official Idaho source, included whether or not they’ve heard of The Cusp — the same way a court roster works. Nobody paid for placement, and nobody here has published pricing or been reviewed yet.

What “verified” means on this page

Not every check is the same check, and most directories hide that. Every listing below says which kind it was, and the date we did it — because a license check is a photograph, not a guarantee. Somebody confirmed in August can be suspended in September.

  • State registerChecked against the state’s own licensing, court or bar record.
  • Issuing bodyChecked against the organization that grants this credential — authoritative for the credential, but it is their own list.
  • Membership listingA membership directory. Joining is voluntary, and this is not a license check.
  • Self-reportedTaken from this person’s own website. Nobody independent confirmed it, and we are re-checking these against an official register.
  • Source linkedChecked against the source linked, which is not a state register.

Nobody paid to be listed here, and nobody can. Listings are not for sale, and no professional on this page has paid us anything to appear on it or to appear higher on it. If we are ever paid in connection with anyone listed here, it will say so on this page, next to that listing. Most of these were confirmed against a state register. A small number were not, and rather than quietly presenting those as equivalent, they are marked and we are re-checking them.

Not included yet. Attorneys: No Idaho attorneys are listed yet, and the reason is a fault on the state’s side rather than a shortage of lawyers. The Idaho State Bar’s roster search is only a front page — the actual records live on two other state systems, and neither can currently be reached safely. One is unreachable entirely; the other serves a security certificate issued for a different web address altogether ("*.tyleridaho.com" rather than the state’s own domain), so the connection can’t be trusted. We won’t fall back on commercial lawyer directories, which aren’t official sources and are usually pay-to-appear. You can still search the roster by hand at isb.idaho.gov/licensing-mcle/attorney-roster-search/.

Not included yet. Therapists: No Idaho therapists are listed. Idaho’s license checker publishes machine-access rules that explicitly forbid automated retrieval, and we respect that rather than work around it. Two related state addresses don’t resolve at all. We won’t substitute the federal provider registry, because that records a national provider number, not a current Idaho license. To check someone by hand, use edopl.idaho.gov/OnlineServices/?link=PubSearch.

Not included yet. CDFAs: No Idaho CDFAs could be confirmed. IDFA’s directory sits behind a "prove you’re human" check we don’t work around, and the one Idaho profile that had been indexed has since been removed by IDFA itself.

Not included yet. Mediators: Verified, but not exhaustive. The Supreme Court’s roster is paginated and only the first page could be read reliably — the downloadable version is a dead link. Mediators based in Pocatello, Twin Falls, Moscow and Lewiston couldn’t be enumerated. Note that three of the five below are approved to serve all 44 Idaho counties, so practical coverage is wider than the county labels suggest.

What these professionals typically cost in Idaho

Idaho falls in the West region on The Cusp’s cost model — illustrative, member-reported ranges, not an official fee survey or a quote.

ItemReported range
Attorney, uncontested$1,200–$4,000
Attorney, contested$6,000–$28,000+
Mediator, full case$120–$400/hr

See the main directory page for the full regional cost breakdown across all four professional types.

The rest of what we have written about Idaho. Every figure is quoted from Idaho’s own statute or its courts’ own published schedule, and carries the date we last checked it.

Before you pay anyone

Everybody on this page charges for their time. If money is the constraint — and for most people reading this it is — these two come first, and we earn nothing from either.

What this means. This is when the sources on this page were last read against their originals — statutes, court rules, official schedules — taken from the dates recorded against the individual citations on this page. It is not the date the page was last edited. Adding a link or fixing a typo does not move it; re-reading the statute does. Where we get something wrong we publish it at thecusp.app/corrections with the date, what changed, and how long the error was live.
