Arizona’s divorce professionals, verified.

Real attorneys, mediators, CDFAs and therapists — credentials checked against Arizona’s own official directories, not paid placement.

Every professional below is currently at the Listed tier: credentials independently verified from an official Arizona source, automatically included whether they’ve opted into The Cusp or not — the same way a bar association directory works. Nobody here has paid for placement, and none of them have published pricing or been reviewed yet.

What “verified” means on this page

Not every check is the same check, and most directories hide that. Every listing below says which kind it was, and the date we did it — because a license check is a photograph, not a guarantee. Somebody confirmed in August can be suspended in September.

  • State registerChecked against the state’s own licensing, court or bar record.
  • Issuing bodyChecked against the organization that grants this credential — authoritative for the credential, but it is their own list.
  • Membership listingA membership directory. Joining is voluntary, and this is not a license check.
  • Self-reportedTaken from this person’s own website. Nobody independent confirmed it, and we are re-checking these against an official register.
  • Source linkedChecked against the source linked, which is not a state register.

Nobody paid to be listed here, and nobody can. Listings are not for sale, and no professional on this page has paid us anything to appear on it or to appear higher on it. If we are ever paid in connection with anyone listed here, it will say so on this page, next to that listing. Most of these were confirmed against a state register. A small number were not, and rather than quietly presenting those as equivalent, they are marked and we are re-checking them.

Not included yet. Mediators: Arizona’s Superior Courts don’t publish a reachable public roster of approved private family mediators — Maricopa and Pima describe court-staffed mediation only, and several county sites blocked automated access. The mediators listed are verified instead through the State Bar’s own directory on two Bar-published data points: formal membership in the Bar’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Section plus Bar-published family-mediation practice areas. That’s an official credential, but it is not a court-approved-mediator designation.

Not included yet. Therapists: No Arizona therapists are listed yet. Arizona replaced its entire behavioral-health licensing system in June 2026, and the board’s public license search has not returned results since — searches for even the most common surnames come back empty. We could identify candidate clinicians through the federal NPI registry, but those license details are entered by providers themselves and confirmed by no one, and right now there is no working state lookup for you (or us) to check them against. Listing them would mean asking you to trust a credential nobody has verified, so they stay off until Arizona’s system is answering again. To confirm a therapist’s license in the meantime, the board takes calls at 602.542.1882.

What these professionals typically cost in Arizona

Arizona falls in the West region on The Cusp’s cost model — illustrative, member-reported ranges, not an official fee survey or a quote.

ItemReported range
Attorney, uncontested$1,200–$4,000
Attorney, contested$6,000–$28,000+
Mediator, full case$120–$400/hr

See the main directory page for the full regional cost breakdown across all four professional types.

Child & adolescent therapists

Nothing here yet, and we would rather show you an empty section than an unverified one. The reason is specific: Arizona’s Board of Behavioral Health Examiners moved its license lookup to a new system in June 2026 and the public search has not worked reliably since. We will not list a therapist we cannot confirm against the board, and we will not quietly substitute the federal NPI registry, because NPI license fields are entered by the provider rather than confirmed by the board. There are plenty of qualified child therapists in Arizona — we just cannot yet prove which. In the meantime, the board’s office will confirm a license over the phone, and asking a prospective therapist for their license number and checking it yourself takes about two minutes.

Arizona’s Board of Behavioral Health Examiners replaced its licensing system in mid-2026 and its public verification search has not returned results since. We will not list an Arizona therapist until we can confirm a license against the board itself.

Know someone in Arizona who needs this?

Sending one person a straight answer about money is more useful than most advice. Nothing here asks for their real name, and nobody finds out they looked.

The rest of what we have written about Arizona. Every figure is quoted from Arizona’s own statute or its courts’ own published schedule, and carries the date we last checked it.

Before you pay anyone

Everybody on this page charges for their time. If money is the constraint — and for most people reading this it is — these two come first, and we earn nothing from either.

What this means. This is when the sources on this page were last read against their originals — statutes, court rules, official schedules — taken from the dates recorded against the individual citations on this page. It is not the date the page was last edited. Adding a link or fixing a typo does not move it; re-reading the statute does. Where we get something wrong we publish it at thecusp.app/corrections with the date, what changed, and how long the error was live.
